June 1 "Dental Malpractice Trends" Ronald Goldman : We will discuss those chronic problems dentists seem to have regarding record keeping and explore good record keeping habits and how altering your records can destroy your defense in a case jeopardizing your dental license. Electronic record keeping will also be discussed. We'll examine real malpractice cases dealing with problem areas which dominate recent claims, such as implant placement and restoration, endodontic treatment sand traps, ortho in the hands of the non-orthodontist, and dealing with the patient who "NOs" it all.
October 19 "Death and Disability Planning" Julia Goldman: When a dentist suddenly dies or becomes permanently disabled, their spouse and dental practice are not prepared to continue with the day-to-day operation of the practice and/or immediately engage a professional team to handle the sale of the practice. This course provides the dentist with basic information and forms necessary, to ensure that his/her spouse can continue to maintain the practice or have a disability group take over day to day operation, and to quickly prepare the practice for sale to an associate, partner or to a third person through a practice broker.
