 opment Disabilities (IDD). According\n to the United Nations' Factsheet on
  Persons with Disabilities\, people \nwith disabilities represent approxim
 ately 15% of the world's population\,\n making them the world's largest mi
 nority group.  Although the American \nDental Association (ADA) guarantees
  equal access to oral healthcare\, \nthat access is disproportionately red
 uced for people with IDD\, making it\n one of the more significant problem
 s that they face. Oral healthcare is\n an important component of maintaini
 ng one's overall health and \nwell-being\, so increasing awareness of this
  issue and inviting patients \nwith IDD into your practice is absolutely c
 ritical.   Treating patients \nwith IDD is not as challenging as many prov
 iders fear\, and the ADA's \nPrinciples of Ethics and Code of Professional
  Conduct states that \n“dentists shall not refuse to accept patients or de
