In\n today’s dental offices\, dental implan ts are a mainstream treatment for \nmissing and soon to be missing teeth. As quickly as the design of these \nimplants have changed\, so to have the options for restoring them. In \naddition\, patients are expecting not ju st an “implant” but a “tooth”. \nThis lecture provides today’s restorative and surgical practitioners \nwith up-to-date information on materials and concepts to provide the \npatient with what they want\, functional and es thetic teeth. \; 3 CE Units
Learning Ob jectives:
- Become familiar with current materials for i mplant abutment/restorations.
- Understand the criteria for screw re tained and cement retained restorations.
- Review of cementation pro tocol for minimizing excess cement extrusion.
- Understand the use o f angulated prosthetic screw channels for screw retention.
Dr.\n Quincy Gibbs\, < em>completed his DDS at the University of Pacific Arthur A. \nDugoni Schoo l of Dentistry in San Francisco in 2004. Dr. Gibbs then \nreturned to Nort hern Nevada where he worked in general and implant \ndentistry for more th an eight years in a multi-doctor private practice. \nDuring his time as a general dentist\, Dr. Gibbs was active with the \nlocal and state dental c omponent societies. In 2012\, Dr. Gibbs then \nsought to pursue additional specialty training at the UCSF School of \nDentistry\, Graduate Prosthodo ntic Program. He completed his \nProsthodontic Residency and Specialty Cer tificate in 2015 and joined the\n Dental Implant Center at Walnut Creek in 2017.
He\n is a Board-Certified Prosthodontist and a Diplo mate of the American \nBoard of Prosthodontics\, a member of the American Dental Association\, a \nFellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy\, an Associ ate Fellow of the \nAmerican Academy of Implant Dentistry\, a Fellow of th e American College \nof Prosthodontists\, and a Fellow of the Internationa l Team for \nImplantology (ITI). \;Dr. Gibbs shares his knowledge with in the dental \ncommunity and has lectured on the topics of implant dentis try and \nProsthodontics with a focus on current digital workflows. \; He enjoys \nspending time with his wonderful family
